The mortality rate was 11.4 per one thousand person years in people on placebo and 10.7 per one thousand person years in people on statins. This was not a statistically significant difference. ・・ There was also no relationship between the amount that LDL cholesterol was reduced and all-cause mortality. ・・ ”This literature-based meta analysis did not find evidence for the benefit of statin theory on all-cause mortality in a high-risk primary prevention set-up.” (B.H. Roberts, 紙の本のp200-201)
